Secrets of Endari: Dev Diary #1 (An Introduction)
I first conceptualized Endari years ago while working as an intern at the U.S. Department of Energy. The world map, magic system, and narrative were vastly different, but the core concept persists.
What would a world look like where the costs of magic are catastrophic yet completely unseen?
And thus Endari was born.
It's a world filled with vast deserts, expansive oceans, and menacing mountain ranges. From the islands of Wyr and Chankor to the Shendari Empire and the Tornic Confederation, the cultures inhabiting Endari approach the world through vastly different lenses.
All of them use magic differently from one another.
None of them completely understand it. Few have cracked its ultimate mysteries.
Some nations live in harmony with the natural order of things. Others seek to exploit and control. And many people just try to survive.
Then there are the revolutionaries and firebrands seeking to build a better world.
While Endari is an intricate, immense, complicated world, Secrets of Endari begins in one backwater corner of the Shendari Empire. Within a colonial city, far across the desert, a fight for freedom brews.
Two heroes find themselves caught in the crosshairs.
Yet no one foresees the storm arriving on the horizon. Its power is unlike anything ever imagined, its fury undiscriminating. The nations of the world have their many legends and histories about the past. Do any of them truly explain the coming apocalypse?
